This is a great compact digital camera. It's amazing what you get for $160 these days. 8.0 megapixels. LCD screen with 2.5 inch diameter. And the option to store images to SD cards - meaning that if you pick up one (or more) of the new SDHC cards, you have a capacity for a huge number of photos. Canon seem to have evolved a number of features which are welcome to the majority of photographers - who want to "point and shoot" and get great results. The camera features a form of motion detection which evaluates how fast the elements in the photo are moving and makes adjustments in the settings to suit. Not only this, but there's a "face detection" feature which - I have no idea how they do this - recognizes when there are faces in the scene, and concentrates the focus and exposure on them. Comes in a choice of five colors - Blue, Pink, Brown, Gold or Silver. Sure enough, rave reviews all over Amazon.com: 342 five-star reviews out of a total of 482, and only 7 one-star; that's an unusually high score for any product. This one makes the grade.
