Ultimate Ears Super-fi 5
I'm a total fan of the modern style of in-ear headphones: First, because the "ordinary", cheap style headphones - like the stupid white ones that come with the iPod - just don't fit in my ears properly and keep falling out; Second, because the new style in-ear headphones create a seal and effectively double up as earplugs, reducing background sound considerably; and Third - because they sound amazing. The net result of all this is that I don't have to turn the 'phones up so loud in order to hear the music properly - which is a really good thing, both from the point of view of audio fatigue and preservation of hearing in the long term. One of the very best is the Ultimate Ears Super-fi 5. Rave reviews all over Amazon - with all kinds of people saying they are among the best sounding headphones money can buy. Like many other in-ear phones these are somewhat delicate, and you can't beat them around; but if you are prepared to take care of them, the Ultimate Ears may well take you to audio heaven...
